We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Officer for our client firm within the Food Processing/Production sector. This role can be based out of Co. Leitrim and will also cover one site in Co. Cavan as required.This is Maternity Leave position.This is a busy Food manufacturing/production company and we are seeking a person who has a desire to progress their own career within the Food industry.The main function of the role will be to manage, support and advise on all aspects with regard to Health and Safety with the primary objective to prevent incidents in the workplace.· Implement principles of prevention though out the plant.· Liaise and work with Department Managers and Maintenance on introducing preventative measures to minimise risk and control loss.· Carry out incident investigations and corrective action measures with Department Managers/Supervisors.· Update and develop risk assessments and SOPs throughout each department/area· Assertively enforce Company safety policies in all departments/areas· Implementation of the Company Risk Management System at the sites to the agreed level and work with Management to progress the RRMS.· Identify all Heath, Safety & Welfare training needs for the site.We are seeking a person with:· Ideally 2+years within the Health and Safety Industry.· The above experience being ideally within a Food and/or Manufacturing environment.· Recognised H&S qualifications.· A strong desire & interest to progress their career within the Food industry.
