To attend to the personal needs of, and provide physical assistance to disabled and older people with support and care needs (service users) within residential care establishments. Tasks required by this job include: Assisting and enabling service users with activities of daily living Washing, dressing, toileting, mobilizing, eating, activities, etc Following the direction of the nurse in charge of carrying out care, record keeping, and reporting. Serving meals to service users at the table or in bed, and assisting with feeding if required; Generally assisting with service users in their overall comfort and well-being; Providing interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user; Monitoring service users conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contributes to record keeping Liaising with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc Entry requirements of this job: There are no formal academic entry requirements, however achieving at least a relevant QQI Level 5 qualification within 2 years of entering the position is generally required. Entrants would usually be at least 18 years old and would preferably have some experience of working in a care environment. Garda vetting will be required. Minimum annual remueration €30,014.40 per annum( €14.80 per hour) Positions are permanent full time , 39 hours per week
