Our client in the Romford area is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Assistant to join their team. The Health & Safety Assistant will support the organisation’s health and safety initiatives, promoting a positive culture in an educational setting to meet legal requirements.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain experience in health and safety.Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
- Investigate accidents and near misses
- Support the development of health and safety training materials
- Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure compliance with regulations
- Coordinate health and safety training programmes
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and best practises
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
- Certification or training in health and safety is a plus
Day-to-day
- Conduct safety inspections and report findings
- Assist in developing safety training materials
- Collaborate with various departments to address health and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities
- Salary range: £30,000 – £33,000
