Role: Permanent / Full TimeHours: Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5pmOptimize Recruitment is thrilled to collaborate with our client, a premier manufacturing company in Ireland, in their search for a committed individual to join their expanding health and safety team. They are seeking a Health and Safety graduate to fulfill the role of Health and Safety Team Member. The role entails executing tasks and understanding procedures related to all facets of Health and Safety at their Kildare location.. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.With the guidance of the Senior Health and Safety Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Aid in fostering a robust health and safety culture through an effective near miss and hazard reporting system, maintaining continuous communication with the H&S Manager and department representatives.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, prepare reports, implement corrective and preventative measures, and work closely with department representatives to address identified issues.
• Support scheduling and oversee mandatory safety training, ensuring timely delivery and supporting the development of health and safety communications, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts.
• Assist in managing emergency preparedness for fire safety, chemical safety, and work-related vehicles across the site.
• Aid the H&S Manager with the Contractor Management Programme, deliver training to contractor managers, update contractor information, and audit contractor activities for compliance.
• Analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement, aiming to prevent the recurrence of accidents, incidents, and unsafe behaviours.
• Keep up to date with H&S regulations and support ongoing compliance with legal and company requirements.

• The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant health and safety qualification is required.
• Experience, preferably gained through a college work placement in health and safety.
• Proficient in computer applications and MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills to explain safety procedures and regulations.
• Strong administrative and literacy skills for compiling and producing reports.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Confident and assertive, with the ability to consult with departmental managers to enforce regulations when necessary
