JOB TITLE:

UW ACRES Student Farm Intern

JOB PURPOSE:

Help with production and repair of the UW ACRES student Farm located at the Laramie Research and Extension Center in Laramie, WY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Weeding, planting and harvesting of vegetable and cover crops
• Pruning established plants at the farm
• Recovering and repair of five high tunnels at the farm
• Reorganizing the farm building
• Rebuilding the farm’s compost center
• Recording data of plants grown at the farm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma and at least one college level chemistry or biology course

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good organizational and time management skills
• Problem solving skills
• Interest in crop production and gardening
