About the Role

Responsible for safe and reliable operation and maintenance of AGL’s fleet of wind farms with a focus on HV operations, switching, isolations and advanced troubleshooting, our HV Operators and Senior Technicians are the technical experts our wind fleet.
In your new role of HV Operator, you will support site service technicians in conducting scheduled servicing and repairs, applying your expertise to ensure equipment is safely isolated and complex maintenance items are effectively and scoped and executed. Utilising your wind farm experience, you will lead troubleshooting and site improvement initiatives as well as provide on the job training to site staff.
Based at the Wattle Point wind farm site, you will be supported by a well-staffed of site service technicians, fellow HV Operators/Senior Technicians, a Lead Technician and dedicated Site Supervisor as well as AGL’s extensive network of eBOP staff, operations, engineering, and other support functions.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Site Operations Supervisor, you will:
- Support site service technicians in performing scheduled wind turbine maintenance servicing and repairs.
- Prepare and execute isolations, switching operations and other works management controls to ensure all work is performed in a safe and reliable manner.
- Participate in shift start toolboxes, hazard identification and proactive risk management activities.
About You

What you’ll bring to the table
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification along with HV Certification (essential for HV Operator and strongly preferred for Senior Technician).
- Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training, qualifications in working at heights safety, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, and first aid would be advantageous.
- Experience as a technician in the operations and maintenance of wind farms.
- Experience with works management (PTW, LOTO, Switching Operations).
- Willingness to work at heights and in confined environments.
- Valid South Australian Driver’s license.
