Lawler Group are a well-established business operating within the traditional engineering and sustainability and energy management sectors.Currently experiencing growth in new business opportunities, we now require an IES Modeller to enhance the sustainability team who can provide technical support in building certifications.This individual will join the sustainability team and work on several large commercial developments to reduce energy consumption and improve the sustainability of these developments.The role represents an opportunity to shape and drive the continued growth of the business and offers significant upward career progression.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have experience within a quality well run business. The role will suit a pro-active candidate who is comfortable interacting at senior levels within a business.Work experience within a fast-paced service, construction or engineering, sustainability environment would be a distinct advantage.An attractive remuneration and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.Key Requirements:
- Ideally 2+ years’ experience as a sustainability/ energy consultant or related position
- Degree in a construction / environmental / engineering or related field desirable with proven performance in sustainability
- Proficiency with IES:VE software to carry out energy modelling and analysis
- IES experience, and Irish Building Regulations Part L knowledge
Skills and Attributes:
- Relevant experience in a similar modeller or consultancy role within the built environment industry
- Educational background within an engineering field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Key Responsibilities/Role Requirements:
- Liaising with client stakeholders to develop the criteria for the delivery of the desired environmental assessment rating
- Coordinate and collaborate with building owners, design, construction, and operational teams. Understand the role of each team member in achieving targets and be able to communicate it effectively
- Managing own workload to meet project deadlines
- Producing reports and providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams
- Attending site visits to review progress against sustainability targets
- Arranging and attending meetings, taking minutes and distributing actions
- Completing relevant training to become certified as an assessor against one
of the core assessment methodologies
- Understanding of operational, embodied and net-zero carbon strategies
- You will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our services through upskilling, market research and knowledge-sharing
