Global Engineering and Services Group seeks a junior lawyer to work as part of a medium sized legal team who support the defence division of the business on a range of legal, contractual and compliance matters.Responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Divisional General Counsel you will:

• Proactively provide legal and contractual support to the Division Review negotiate and draft commercial contracts including client, supplier, agency, teaming and reseller agreements Ensure operations and business activities are carried out in compliance with local regulations Actively participate in the Division Compliance Program including implementation and training Provide advice in relation to the protection and management of intellectual property Support management of litigations, disputes and claims Supervising outside Counsel Participate in the deployment and implementation of the Group Legal Department strategic initiatives and provide support to the Group Company Secretary Department

We are looking for:

• Qualified solicitor or barrister
• Practical knowledge and experience of contract and commercial law – whether during your training or since
• Legal compliance and IP experience would also be a benefit
• Experience with a UK based law firm or in-house legal team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both orally and written Capable of adapting legal advice to enable desired commercial outcomes Adept at delivering to tight timescales, while managing multiple cases simultaneously Self-starter, motivated and capable of operating outside comfort zone Flexible and good team worker, assisting as part of wider group legal team where necessary Confident in dealing directly and managing relationships with directors, senior managers, customers and suppliers
