JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security/Firewall Engineer with a specialized focus on accelerating segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies. This role is critical for developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions, controls, standards, designs, and documentation to protect our network infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on the security of isolated services and laptops. The successful candidate will provide expert technical guidance to network and firewall engineers in support of strategic projects, new initiatives, necessary redesigns or re-engineering, and operational support to ensure our network is safeguarded against unauthorized access, use, modification, deletion, and unavailability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and accelerate the implementation of segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies across the network to enhance security and control.
• Analyze disparate network events, alerts, and logs to derive concise and meaningful explanations, with a focus on segmented environments.
• Execute advanced network threat hunting and analysis operations, particularly within segmented and micro-segmented networks.
• Apply knowledge of malware, emerging threats, and network attacks to mitigate security threats, with a focus on isolated services and laptops.
• Ensure chain of custody and control procedures for network evidence in segmented environments, document procedures and findings, and prepare comprehensive written notes and reports.
• Oversee the development and implementation of standardized network security reporting, with a focus on segmented and micro-segmented networks.
• Lead the configuration, design, and operational support of firewall and network security for isolated services and laptops.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to network and firewall engineers responsible for configuring and designing the security of segmented networks.
• Develop, review, implement, and monitor network security policies and procedures, with a specific focus on enhancing segmentation and micro-segmentation practices.
• Monitor and assess security industry trends, providing recommendations on emerging threats and technologies related to network segmentation security.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated knowledge of network IT security technologies, firewall management, and advanced network segmentation strategies.
• 7+ years of experience in information security operations, with a significant focus on network security, segmentation, and micro-segmentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or a related field.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFE, CISA, CISM, and specifically vendor certifications including:
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
• Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
• Proven experience in engineering security solutions for network environments, including expertise in firewall configuration, network design, and segmentation strategies.
• Demonstrated grasp of basic and advanced network security principles, with specific expertise in segmentation and micro-segmentation techniques.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills, with the ability to lead projects focused on network segmentation and the security of isolated services and laptops.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to network and firewall engineers.
