Click to explore Life at Octopus.Job DescriptionWhat’s in it for you?The Institutional team is looking for a Sales Analyst to support the team’s goals as it grows and looks to build out the team and enhance working methods. The role will primarily support the Sales Directors and Associate Directors to build their networks, whilst looking for opportunities to improve our processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to start building your own investor contacts, as well as supporting on the operational aspects of the sales and marketing strategy with all team members.We are looking for someone who sees their career growing in Institutional Investment sales and business development. On joining the team you’ll receive training, support and direction that will allow your knowledge of Octopus’ investment products to expand. It provides an incredible training ground to really hone and develop your skills.Another exciting element of this role is the exposure you’ll get to the wider business, as you’ll need to partner with marketing, IT, Data, investment teams and more.The teamThe Institutional team sits centrally within Octopus Investments and works across each of the Octopus institutional investment teams: Ventures, Real Estate, and Sustainable Infrastructure. We currently have a diverse team of 20 people across sales, marketing, and investor relations. The team also works in partnership with Octopus Energy Generation to identify fundraising opportunities for renewables and energy transition strategies.The team is responsible for both building new and supporting existing institutional client relationships. Institutional capital will help to support the Octopus mission to invest in the people, the ideas and the industries that will change the world.What will you be doing?

  • Working with the Sales Directors and Associate Directors to build and deliver the sales strategy in their regions
  • Sector research, market mapping and lead qualification
  • Initial outreach to some investors and third parties
  • Supporting the preparation of materials for investor engagements and pitches
  • Project management of sales funnels and outreach strategy
  • Point of contact on marketing projects, collaborating with the marketing team on campaigns and events
  • Industry research and competitor analysis, keeping on top of industry trends and news
  • Presentation of investor feedback to investment teams to support product design and improvement
  • Point of contact with internal teams (e.g. legal and compliance), including project management of operational areas (e.g. client categorisation)
  • Be a brand ambassador for Octopus and its products
