Intern – Telecom Engineering – Optical

Location: São Paulo, Hybrid role.

We are looking for the next generation of Telecoms Engineers to work within our Professional Services organization. The team manage complex terrestrial and subsea DWDM network deployments for our customers. You will be involved in building the next generation of customer networks and data Centers.

We are looking for telecommunications, Computing, or electrical engineering students.

The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to defend the implementation objectives, a willingness to learn new technologies, enjoy dealing with multidisciplinary teams distributed throughout Latin America.

• Job rotation between different areas in Service team, including PMO, Terrestrial and Subsea deployments.
• Learn Infinera Products and technologies.
• Activate Infinera equipment coordinating field technicians.
• Execute Software upgrades.
• Lab tests on Infinera and Customer labs
• Participate in homologations and trials.
• Provide remote support to field technicians on DWDM projects.
• Work on process and tasks automation (Macro, scripts, and others)
• Elaborate MOPs, plan activities
• Support ongoing projects using planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing methods. Updating schedules, coordinating resources and monitoring schedules and costs.
• Review project documentation to verify project scope is in line with specifications and customer requirements. Identify any discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain project documentation in shared network location as appropriate. Collects and centralizes regular status reports, project controls and meeting minutes into Share-point.
• Assist in meetings, updating meeting minutes and help with the communication of decisions and action items.
• Collect and manage information and documents associated with recognizing revenue such as LOA (Letter of Acceptance)
• Ensure customer satisfaction surveys are sent for all completed projects that are targeted where the customer does not utilize another means of providing feedback.

All functions and responsibilities of the intern will be followed by an Infinera Professional Engineer, responsible to do mentoring, knowledge transfer and support the intern.

Minimum Qualifications

• Cursing 3rd year of, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English. Spanish will be considered a plus
• Basic understanding of telecommunications terminology and practices and willingness to learn about the optical telecoms industry, products, and projects.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Programming Logic
• Excel Macro, PHP and shell script

Non-Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively conduct meetings, obtain required information, give presentations, and maintain effective information flow.
• Teamwork. Ability to operate effectively in a matrix-managed environment.
• An articulate communicator, with excellent writing and social skills and an analytical approach to provide suitable solutions to any tasks that are presented.
• Hands-on profile
• Basic negotiation skills to resolve conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
• Demonstrates a commitment and dedication to work that encourages others to achieve positive results.
