Job Role: IT Financial Operations Analyst
Position tpye: 6+ Months of contract
Location: Dublin / CorkPart of the Enterprise Applications team and reporting directly to the IT Financial Operations Lead, the IT Financial Operations Analyst will work as part of a team responsible for the Analysis, Development, Modification and Maintenance of all aspects of the financial processes and systems within Irish Water, such as Client E-Business Suite, Hyperion, Kofax/Mark view and additional treasury and tax applications.Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support business stakeholders in translating their requirements into functional requirements, ensuring these requirements are understood, documented and agreed by Applications team.
- Provide functional support for the financial applications and when required, assist with the support of the day to day operations and the resolution of critical or high priority incidents.
- Work along IW’s technical outsourced application development (AD) and application maintenance (AM) teams to address incident resolution and change requests.
- All change is governed by change management board and candidate would support and contribute to this board engaging with the business owners as well as IT Build & Delivery teams.
- Overseeing and supporting the IT operational activities to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the IT financial system applications.
- Assist with the delivery of changes to applications including the analysis, design, development, testing and transition of changes through a path to production deployment.
- Participate in IT project teams as necessary engaging closely with the IT Build & Delivery teams, Project managers and external resources/service providers as required.
- Build up a deep understanding of key business processes.
- Work with business and change teams in developing, documenting, and implementing procedures that support, maintain and enhance application products and services.
- Maintain financial systems user guides and training documentation and also provide user training in conjunction with the learning dept. as required as well as to ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
- Support testing, user training and business readiness.
- Provide out-of-hours cover as part of the on call, 1 week in 4 rota.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At least three years relevant experience is required.
- Relevant third level degree or equivalent is required.
- Strong functional knowledge of one of more modules of Client Financials eBusiness Suite (GL, AP, AR, PA, PO, FA, CM, INV, OTL, iProc, etc.) is required.
- Knowledge and/or experience of one of Client Hyperion or Kofax / Markview would be a strong advantage.
- Relevant application certification (for example, Client) would be an advantage.
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders others effectively is desirable.
- Experience in dealing with a variety of business owners across a large organisation would be an advantage.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually as required.
- Ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
- Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results.
