The Role
IT Support & MEAL Assistant will be responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s ICT and digital infrastructure. This role includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of digital systems to ensure the efficient and effective use of technology in achieving the organization’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support:
- Manage and maintain the organization’s digital systems, including software and hardware.
- Implement and support digital tools and platforms that enhance operational efficiency.
- Helping to install, configure and maintain BEA IT framework
- Providing general support for the IT department and for the organisation computer users
- Installing and maintaining various peripherals as well as installing relevant updates and patches
- Data Management:
- Develop and maintain databases to store and manage digital information.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Create and maintain documentation for all digital systems and data processes.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure effective use of technology.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in GIS and digital systems.
- Propose and implement new technologies and processes to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support in the development and implementation of MEAL plans, frameworks, and systems for Brooke East Africa’s programming.
- Support development of MEAL tools, including data collection instruments, data management systems and data analysis frameworks.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for project monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Coordinate collection of Projects’ georeferenced information related to a better understanding of the projects’ progress, achievements, and impact on communities;
- Support in conducting data quality assessments to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and up-to-date.
- Promote the use of GIS Survey tools to help Brooke East Africa projects collect geo-localized information from the field.
- Utilize global best practices in GIS and MEAL tools.
MEAL Support:
Key knowledge, qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences
- At least a first degree (Bachelors) in computer science, IT or any related field.
- Significant experience (over 3 years) working in a related field
- Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
- Proficiency with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various mapping languages.
- Experience with mapping tools such as QGIS and Carto.
- Experience with GPS /IT Systems Experience with GPS /IT Syatems.
- Experience with MEAL.
- Outstanding quantitative skill set.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Analytical mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
