Hello! 👋 Are you the System Engineer we are looking for?At Seafar, in this role you’re responsible for all of the IT System Engineer for our Remote Operation Center (ROC) & as well as for the Vessels🤓 Main responsibilities
- ROC (stations):
- hardware (firewall, switches, joystick PLC, UPS, screens, cabling…)
- software installation/configuration for new or existing vessels
- Become an ROC station application/services expert/consultant and test/support new or existing vessel integrations from the ROC station.
- 1st & 2nd level IT support for the operational team (captains/operators/traffic controller/…) in the ROC
- Vessels
- hardware (firewall, switches, 4G/5G/satellite, camera’s…)
- software installation/configuration for new or existing vessels (vessel control system)
- Become a vessel services/application expert/consultant and test/support new or existing vessel integrations from the ROC station.
- 1st & 2nd level IT support for the systems onboard of our vessels
- Cloud deployment/configuration support in Azure (IaaS & PaaS) for new or existing vessels
- Create/maintain documentation for:
- Station software usage by operators or traffic controllers
- Vessel, Station & Cloud software deployment/configuration
- IT environment
- Maintain and secure our server infrastructure.
- General IT systems monitoring (Zabbix, PRTG, Azure monitoring)
- General IT maintenance, support, and documentation
- IT deployment/maintenance optimization management (with team members)
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within your team
- You’ll work from our headoffice in Antwerp
👇 Does this sounds like you?Bachelor, Master or PhD Degree in Engineering (e.g. Computer science, Cybernetics, mechatronics ) or Science (Mathematics, Physics)
- Experience/knowledge of Windows (Server) administration with Intune
- Excellent experience in networking, deep knowledge for network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, …), QoS optimization and performance monitoring and troubleshooting (Fortinet firewalls, HPE Switches, wireless solutions)
- Experience/knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. specifically Zabbix)
- Experience/knowledge of Linux operating system
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure, mainly Microsoft Azure
- 5+ years of experience in networking
- 3+ years of experience in system administration and support or ICT infrastructure implementations
- Affinity with software development and DevOps in a .NET & Azure environment
- Experience/knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. specifically PRTG, Zabbix & Azure monitoring
- You like taking charge and have good communication and social skills
- Dutch and English should be perfect written en spoken
