Job Category: Customer ServicesDegree Level: Master’s DegreeJob Description:You will provide technical expertise in Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solutions, supporting Demos, Proof-of-Concepts, Trials, Workshops, and Post-Sales activities for Nokia’s IP Routing, SDN, and NFV product portfolio across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). You will work closely with Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Engineering, and Professional Service teams, capturing customer requirements, defining use cases, and converting them into test cases and plans, while staging and demonstrating solutions to convince customers of Nokia’s technical capabilities.
Additionally, you will assist with network design, troubleshooting, solution testing, and delivering technical presentations and workshops, ensuring that customer support requests are resolved efficiently, and customer requirements are communicated to product management teams.Our TeamThe pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. We are active in a growing and challenging business which is in constant evolution. We are in contact with R&D teams, Project/Program and Technical Managers, Consulting Engineers and Business Development teams, Local Account teams and Regional Customer Engineering & Support teams.We are introducing, via Demos, Workshops, Proof of Concepts and Trials, the new IP Routing products and features which we incorporate into our solutions like Triple-Play, Multi-Services Edge, Core, Mobile Backhauling, Wi-Fi Offload, Nuage/SDN & NFV & NSP together with their respective Network Management systems, to our customers in the EMEA Region. Network Design for the above Technologies, Products and Solutions also belong to our set of responsibilities. By means of regular workshops, we have a Knowledge Creation & Transfer responsibility towards all teams we are interacting with. Finally, with our Automation / DevOps environment and engineers we are developing Automatic Test Systems for Nokia’s Cloud Products and Solutions.Responsibilities:As part of our team, you will:

  • Provide technical skills and expertise for handling Demos, Proof-of-Concepts, Trials, Workshops and/or Post-Sales activities, in the area of Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualization solutions, all based on the Nokia IP Routing, Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualization product portfolio.
  • Assist with the technical Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Engineering and Professional Service support for the Internet Protocol Routing, Network Function Virtualization and Software Defined Networks product portfolio in the EMEA region.
  • Help capture customer requirements, define relevant Use Cases and work out a corresponding list of required features & capabilities, and convert Use Case/Features into Test Cases/Test Plans.
  • Validate Use Case(s) by staging and demonstrating them in Nokia labs and/or customer site(s). You help convince the customers’ technical representatives that Nokia can provide them with the best technical solution.
  • Provide occasional support in diagnosing and resolving customer support requests involving network design, in close collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Act as support in defining and specifying High and Low-Level network design solutions.
  • Assist in solution testing and implementation during pre-sales phase. You will prepare and deliver design proposals with support of Internet Protocols and Solution architects.
  • Support our customers by developing, reviewing and/or validating scripts, keeping a library of use & reference cases and more.
  • Help the delivery of technical presentations and workshops to our internal and external customers.
  • Work with multiple points of contact, mainly (technical) project managers, to ensure support requests are solved in a timely manner.
  • Report customer requirements to the Internet Protocol Routing product management teams.

Qualifications:You have/are:

  • Located in Belgium – no relocation offered for this position
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Fluent in English – written and verbal communication
  • Motivated to acquire detailed knowledge and hands-on experience of the Nokia IP Network Infrastructure Products, together with becoming knowledgeable about related networking concepts and technologies that complement the Nokia Internet Protocol Solutions.
  • Academic knowledge of the concepts of Virtualization, Containerization, Software Defined Networks & Network Function Virtualization concepts and related technologies.
  • Passionate about defining an architecture, designing a solution, building, deploying, troubleshooting & fault-finding of our customer’s networks and solutions.

It would be nice if you also had/are:

  • Enthusiast in designing and configuring Network Systems and Management Applications, Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualization products & related technologies.
  • Understanding of Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching concepts, related technologies and protocols.
  • Experience of scripting in both networking and virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix shell and datacenter networking
