Role Profile

Tirlán are recruiting for the position of Key Account Manager, Americas (B2B ingredients). Our ingredients business offering includes a range of dairy and plant based ingredients and related services that will continue to expand as we grow the business. This role will have specific responsibilities in working with our Truly Grass Fed (TGF) Ingredients.

Truly Grass Fed is a premium grass-fed dairy ingredient brand for Food and Nutrition companies to support and endorse their natural brands in market. Truly Grass Fed is on a mission to do dairy better. With small herds and a passion for the art of farming, natural Truly Grass-Fed products are made from milk from cows that graze in open pastures for most of the year. Our portfolio includes milk proteins, whey proteins, cheese, butter and casein to suit all needs.

Reporting to the Regional Director, America, this role is based in the US. The regional portfolio includes key customers and channel partners that are US, Canada and Mexico based with a view to further expanding our reach to other relevant territories.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the execution of the regional market strategy to deliver on our product category business goals and objectives. In addition, collaborating closely with Marketing, Category, R&D and Insights colleagues on business execution. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with customers at all levels (influencers, gate keepers, decision makers, product implementers, C-Suite levels).
  • Grow by engaging with current customers and new customers, understand their business, and communicate how Tirlán can help them to grow their business successfully.
  • Work closely with brand owners to create branded propositions that are founded on Tirlán ingredients and sustainability credentials.
  • Coordinate and arrange customers visits as needed to ensure a positive and fruitful customer experience and to create an environment of growth and innovation.
  • Attend regional, national, and international trade events and conferences in an effort to develop new business and cement current business partnerships with customers
  • Understand and interpret technical product information/research data and convey it in a way customers at varying levels of subject matter expertise can comprehend and appreciate.
  • Evaluate market conditions within the region as well as maintain awareness at the national and international market level, thus analysing current prospects for business and forecasting future trends.
  • Collaborate with Regional Director to develop plans for the distribution channels and end users.
  • Work closely with Tirlan’s leadership to develop and implement sales and marketing plans including effective product pricing, margin generation and negotiation of contracts.
  • Request new customer setup and document customer complaints through ERP system.
  • Provide sales activity reports through digital ERP system.
  • Provide and update customer 18 month forecasts through company forecast system on a regular basis which is at minimum, once per month.
  • Facilitate communication among research and development, quality assurance, customer service and production to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with customers and foster long-term relationships. Communication excellence is essential in all forms.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies/techniques and the ability to analyze business trends and product cycles.
  • Knowledge of the Dairy Industry, products, pricing, product applications, customers and industry producers/competitors.
  • Knowledge of tariffs/duties from Ireland into North America and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of food production processing.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with customers and foster long-term relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the sales staff, research staff, customers, distributors and other business contacts.
  • Ability to manage and maintain corporate confidential information as well as customer confidential information.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily in North America.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information as well as deliver public presentations.
  • Evidence that you are results driven, self-motivated and resourceful to reach best in class professional standards.
  • Dynamic, flexible, proactive approach and ability to work effectively with a variety of customer types.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support within R&D and Cross Functional areas (Marketing, 3rd party co-manufacturers, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, etc.).
  • Evidence of operational excellence and results delivery.
