Job Description:We are looking for a senior SiC device engineer with lab management responsibilities. More specific, the job function entails:Responsibilities:

• Responsibility over a SiC R&D characterization and reliability lab, consisting of ~10 probe stations and measurement benches. Core duties include preventive maintenance, calibration, training, liaison with suppliers for new equipments, programming of the control software for ease-of-use to the needs of the R&D engineering staff, establishing a uniform data output format etc. Streamline the lab activities with the other R&D labs within onsemi.
• Assist the SiC R&D engineering team in data analysis and interpretation of wafer probe and reliability data. The focus will be on the development of efficient wafer level burn-in procedures for SiC MOSFETs to reduce the extrinsic reliability failures. Deploy the new procedures to onsemi’s production facilities and train the operations engineering teams.
• Analysis of large datasets using statistical software (JMP, Python etc) for sound decision making. Apply Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning etc to find correlations between epi and substrate defect scans and the electrical and wafer-level burn-in data.
• Over time lead a team of 3-8 SiC R&D and lab engineers.
• Contribute to International standards related to Silicon Carbide to stay in sync with the market requirements. Over time become an active member of a JEDEC or/and AGQ324 working group(s). Publication of articles to increase visibility of onsemi for Silicon Carbide products.

Qualifications:The candidate has a Master or PhD in Physics or Engineering, with good understanding of the basic principles wide band gap solid state physics and statistics of failure.

• He/she is fluent in English,
• has a proven track record of managing a semiconductor characterization lab,
• can work in a multi-disciplinary world-wide team, hence open and effective communication is a must,
• has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, is pro-active and independent with the ambition to become a team leader,
• Experience with AI and ML and knowledge of Python and JMP is a plus.
