Overview

Prince Telecom has multiple openings for Underground Laborers in New Castle County, Delaware. We are looking for team members who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help connect America!

As a full service telecommunications company, we specialize in building, maintaining, and managing upgrades, rebuilds and new builds, as well as a wide range of services including aerial and underground construction. 

Job Type: Full Time (W2)

Pay: $16/hr

What you will do…

• All phases of underground construction include, but not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment
• Hand dig using shovel/mechanical tools
• Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Perform general construction work under direction of Management
• Flagging
• Property or worksite restoration

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Driver’s License Required
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to use hand tools in a safe manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, etc.
• Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
• Must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (may be required to work over-time, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on-call)
• Ability to stand, climb, balance, crawl, crouch, lift, and stoop while on shift. May require walking on uneven surfaces.
• Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions
• Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed, with or without assistance.
