What will I be doing?

This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that’s creating consumer-facing, the latest technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Lead Network Engineer – APAC, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Technology team reporting to Director, Network Engineering & Technology Support Corporate – APAC, you will support projects including the architecture and engineering of Hilton networks supporting all corporate offices and hotel locations.

As the Lead Network Engineer – APAC, your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique:

• What your day-to-day will be like:

o Analyze requirements, coordinate with requestors, and manage vendors

o Maintain an overview of the Hilton APAC Network topology and assist with necessary connectivity requirements

o Be responsible for all aspects of network engineering policies and operations, including network programmability (Python, scripting, and RESTful API) and orchestration

o Develop and implement network policies to optimize network performance across corporate and hotel locations

o Develop operating metrics for all elements of the corporate environment and manage network vendor and OEM performance

o Demonstrated capability to be autonomous as lead network engineer in multi-phase / multi-year network projects, leading to successful implementation.

• How you will collaborate with others:

o Internally: Work within APAC Network Engineering and Technology Support Corporate team to ensure the infrastructure supports HA, secure applications and data flow. Regular meetings will include strategies to enhance our current APAC network footprint and security to align with compliance and cybersecurity measures. Additionally, collaborate with application owners to understand their application requirements and network dependencies.

o Externally: Possess the ability to work with Hilton’s external vendors (whether that is with our cloud service providers, MPLS providers, or Data Center vendors), to enhance our networking capabilities. These external teams often play an important role in how projects are scoped and accomplished, and the ability to work with them is crucial.

o Cross-functional: Participate in team meetings that involve team members from other Hilton team. Your expertise will guide discussions on network planning, technologies, deployment, and operational challenges. You will use the ability to promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The departments within Technology team are numerous, and the ability to collaborate with them is essential when it comes to accomplishing projects/tasks.

• What projects you will take ownership of:

o As a Lead Network Engineer, you will take on critical projects that solidify our network infrastructure and enhance our operational efficiencies. Among your responsibilities, you will:

o Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Development with Networking Foundations: Lead the deployment of IaC initiatives using Terraform to streamline and manage cloud networking infrastructure. Draw on your traditional networking principles (BGP especially), to better support cloud network solutions. Your role will be to help improve network pathways within our hybrid cloud environment. You will develop Terraform modules that integrate these advanced connectivity options, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. You will combine established network protocols with IaC to craft a network infrastructure that is not only resilient but also prepared for future growth and challenges.

What are we looking for?

A Lead Network Engineer – APAC, serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience
• Five (5) + years of proven Network engineering hand-on experience at multinational company
• Three (3) years of working experience with cloud-based network engineering technologies on AWS or AliCloud
• Two (2) years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC)/automation technologies such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network deployment and management.
• Solid technical background in networking technologies, including VPN, IPSec, BGP, MPLS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and Load Balancing
• Solid interpersonal skills, ability to work well with other IT personnel as well as end users, vendors & contractors
• Experience working with 3rd party vendors and managed network service providers.
• Experience in enterprise-level network security incidents and Change Management processes.
• Experience in project management role
• AWS, AliCloud, Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP, DevNet, etc), PMP certification
• Good oral and written English skills
• Travel up to 10%
