Members regularly attract research funding from diverse sources including EPSRC, STFC, and EU funding. The Department runs a Foundation Year, five BSc/MSci undergraduate programmes as well as two MSc programmes in Mathematics and Mathematics with associated disciplines (e.g., Data Science, Finance). We seek an academic who will join the Applied Mathematics Group and actively contribute to the activities of the Department.ResponsibilitiesAs a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics, your role will be to undertake original research of world-leading or excellent quality which strengthens the research profile of the Department and to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in education, contributing to teaching across our programmes. You will also be expected to play an active role in administration and academic management of the Department. A successful candidate should be open to developing interdisciplinary research and education connections capitalising on the City St George’s merger.Person SpecificationThe successful applicant will have a PhD in Applied Mathematics or related discipline and experience commensurate with raising the profile of the Department in the area. They will demonstrate experience in funding their research, engagement with high-quality teaching and willingness to participate in a range of activities (e.g., outreach, interdisciplinary teaching, knowledge exchange, etc.). We would like a colleague who demonstrates understanding of the positive, proactive research and teaching environment and aims to enhance the collegiate culture of our Department.Additional InformationClosing date: 1st June 2025 at 11:59pm.Interviews are scheduled to take place in w/c 16th June 2025.The selection process will involve an interview and a presentation.
