We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer with interests in any area of Computer Science to join our growing team. Scientists with interests in any area of computer science including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Urban Analyticsx, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Distributed Networks, Theory, Human-Computer Interaction or Software Engineering are welcome to apply. A track record of engagement outside of Computer Science and of interdisciplinary work, including in biosciences, law, psychology, neuroscience, society, the creative industries, business, health, environment and sustainability, or defence and security, are encouraged. We particularly encourage applicants with a strong track record of publication and/or with a track record of engagement and impact. We are seeking innovative and forward-thinking researchers who have an independent, internationally recognised, research track record in their field.The successful candidate will be expected to drive research excellence while shaping innovative teaching approaches. They will be an enthusiastic educator, interested in cutting edge methods that support students at all levels through undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science programmes.About you
For a Lecturer post you will have:

  • A PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding.
  • An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes.
  • Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners.
  • Involvement in projects which develop impact.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a genuine passion for teaching and mentorship.
  • A track record in refereed publications.
  • Strong potential for working with business and community partners and working towards real-world impact.
