Legal Secretary – Residential Property Team
Location: Richmond, Surrey
Salary: up to £32,000
Permanent, Full-Time (Part-time considered for the right candidate – 4 days per week)Are you an experienced Legal Secretary with a strong background in residential property and conveyancing? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!Our client, a well-established regional law firm in Richmond, is seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary to join their Residential Property team. This is a permanent, full-time position, though the firm is happy to consider candidates seeking to work four days per week.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to a busy team of conveyancers and solicitors within the Residential Property department.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of property documentation, including contracts, transfers, and Land Registry applications.
  • Ensure the smooth processing of residential property transactions, including registering property with the Land Registry, ordering searches, and preparing completion statements.
  • Dictation typing and managing correspondence, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain client files and records in compliance with legal procedures and the firm’s policies.
  • Handle client enquiries and provide excellent client service over the phone and via email.
  • Organise meetings, appointments, and assist with diary management.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and provide efficient administrative support to the wider team.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary within residential property and conveyancing (essential).
  • Familiarity with residential property transactions, including Land Registry procedures and property documentation.
  • Strong dictation and typing skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, case management systems, and other relevant legal software.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a team.
