You will also have opportunity to gain experience working with our global Caterpillar customers.You will have the opportunity to work with other facilities across our global organisation and you will be directly involved, and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects.Lasting two years, the Logistics graduate development scheme gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge as you take responsibility for delivering diverse and strategically important business projects to the right quality, on time and to budget. Rotations during the scheme can vary in length but can typically last 12 months initially majoring in the Operational Logistics discipline involving.Logistics planning for introducing new products and process introduction.Continuous improvement opportunities on existing or planned production facilities.Deploying logistics-based automation solutions to optimise operational efficiency.Project management of capital asset deployment, facilitating and onboarding new equipment.Working closely with the operational team to ensure logistics engineering alignment.Developing working practices and operational policies across different areas such as goods inwards, POU use replenishment and outbound dispatch.Developing a plan for every part, monitoring and optimising lineside and material feed processes in and out of the factory.Presenting technical logistics information in local and stakeholder meetings.Following successful completion of your Logistics Engineering projects there may be then an opportunity to rotate outside of this function and gain exposure to other significant business areas such as: Operations and Quality, Design, Product Development, Product Management, Finance, Purchasing, Suppliers and Customers enabling you to understand the interactions and how a company the size of Caterpillar operates on a global scale.What happens after the graduate scheme?Upon successful completion of the scheme, you will progress into a key role where you will directly contribute to the operational and project activity that is at the heart of our business.
