If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as Logistics General Manager.Be part of the movement – and play your partAbout the roleAs Logistics General Manager, you’ll lead the shipping & logistics activities for the Immingham operation whilst also encompassing the cross dock operation that we operate within, working in collaboration with the wider warehousing operations and with direct responsibility for the logistics warehousing. This varied role is responsible for many large, strategic customers with complex supply chains. Responsible for customer service control towers, commercial prowess is essential in leading the customer focused teams and developing strong customer relationships. Working closely with international partners, you will build multimodal, 3PL solutions including shipping, warehousing and onward distributionYou will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a management team, including Business & Operations, Warehousing, Commercial and Distribution
- Ensure Health and Safety within the logistics warehouses
- Building strong customer relationships with Key Account Management of DFDS strategic accounts.
- Contribute to developing efficient and cost-effective solutions, considering the complexities of multi modal transportation, warehousing and onward distribution throughout the UK & Ireland
- Establish relationships with internal and external suppliers of warehousing and transportation
- Multiple P&L responsibility, customer rate setting, negotiations and control of supplier costs
- New business development and organic growth
- Complex stakeholder management
- Strategic development of the department and the wider DFDS strategy
- Driving high level performance and a continuous improvement culture
- Reviewing and developing new solutions as customer supply chains evolve
- Partnering with international teams and driving one DFDS solutions
- Onboarding new customers, developing bespoke solutions, and project management
