Job Description

This position is at Costa Engelmann, our operating unit in Apopka, FL. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the maintenance (including preventive maintenance), troubleshooting, installation, repair, and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facilities, including maintenance and repair of greenhouse irrigation systems.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs general maintenance tasks as needed to support operations.
• Installs and service greenhouse irrigation systems. Preventive maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Diagnoses malfunctions and troubleshoots machines and/or equipment to determine required repairs, to dismantle, to replace, to adjust and/or to assemble.
• Responsible for plant security equipment and maintenance.
• Performs typical maintenance task to support the entire facility.
• Design and read blueprints to lay out or locate irrigation valves and wiring.
• Participate and design or modification of new or existing irrigation systems.
• Contributes to team effort by prioritizing workload, accomplishing related results as needed and communicating with peers as needed to update them on the status of maintenance activities.
• Knowledge in general electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and building construction.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and with efficiency.
• Ability to maintain and inventory of repair and replacement parts and supplies.
• Ability to install and repair any size PVC. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual a plus 
• Strong communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Possesses basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and write in English and posses good math skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license. 
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
