Here at The Mick George Group we are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in Huntingdon.

Job Overview:

Working closely with the group Finance Director (FD) to produce the monthly management accounts for Mick George group subsidiaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Production of the monthly financial accounts pack including balance sheet reconciliations and journals

  • Provide detailed support in the preparation of accounts analysis

  • Cash flow reporting and monitoring

  • Analysis and coding of financial transactions for capital expenditure and intercompany processing

  • Support with the maintenance of management accounting processes and the implementation of authorised changes

  • Complete ad hoc information requests from the finance department or other departments in the company to a high standard

  • Be proactive in obtaining information in order to become a subject matter expert for the relevant businesses including site visits and attending operations meetings.

  • Analysing management accounts and suggesting improvements to the relevant directors.

  • Responsible in assisting with the audit process including gathering information and explaining processes.

    Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Ability to produce an accurate set of accounts for all group companies.

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification with a minimum 2 years experience in an accounts production role within a commercial environment.

  • An excellent general knowledge of Finance processes and systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

  • The ability to read and interpret data in order to present to senior management team.

  • Ability to work under instruction whilst using own initiative where necessary

  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a pressurised environment

  • The confidence and competence to deliver against deadlines

  • Effective communicator, influencer & relationship builder, with the ability to highlight any concerns or issues with Senior Management.

  • The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports 

  • Ability to identify own development needs

  • Demonstrate best practice at all times

  • Excellent MS Office skills, in particular Excel formulas and pivot tables

  • Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks

  • Committed to providing first rate service internally

  • A pro-active team member

  • Ability to prioritise work and manage own diary – amidst challenging demands on time

  • Practice Trained (Desirable)

  • 2 years post qualified experience (Desirable)

  • Knowledge of working in the construction industry (Desirable)

  • Experience of working with group companies (Desirable)
