The Emerging Country Network Topology Planning team is looking for a talented Senior Network Strategy Manager who will create solutions to optimize multi-year network topology design, along with Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East, Singapore and new countries. As a team player you have an opportunity to work with some of the best Supply Chain professionals, Tech teams, Worldwide Engineers, Operations Managers, Finance partners, and business leaders across the continents to design optimal Supply Chain network solutions with an objective to solve the conflicting goals and achieve best customer experience in the most cost efficient way.
This role requires working with cross-functional teams across the countries to jointly define requirements, develop FC (Fulfilment Center) topology and network solutions, and manage the timelines for all current and future projects. In addition, the role also involves working closely with Tech teams to implement tools and features related to supply chain optimization and inventory management. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks/opportunities, and daily change control management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive interaction skills are essential.
This position requires advanced analytical thinking skills and the ability to extract data from multiple sources and develop complex data analytics. Successful candidates will be adept at diving deep through various information sources, and working closely with technology partners, local / regional operations, and finance teams to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions. This position requires working across a variety of teams to drive long-term strategic initiatives and best practices adoption. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving and critical thinking.
Key job responsibilities
- Primary responsibility of this role is to define the best FC (Fulfilment Center) network topology strategy for emerging countries by leveraging on optimization tool sets to find answers for critical strategic questions such as how many facilities to build, what kinds they should be, where to locate them, how to expect them to operate in terms of inbound/outbound, and how to connect them across all miles, while minimizing the total cost to serve and maximizing the customer experience.
- Coordinate and gather requirements from multiple business partners like stores consumers teams, local supply chain/operations, finance/capital planning, facility layout design and engineering services teams to develop long term network topology plan for next 3-5 years planning horizon.
- Extract data and perform complex analytical deep dives to strategically understand the trend in multiple key supply chain metrics and apply the data analytics knowledge into complex supply network optimization modeling.
- Lead supply chain planning projects working with cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a new tools, feature, service, or system that meet cost optimization and delivery experience maximization goals.
- Contribute to mid to long-term network planning process, tools, and features rollout and process standardization for new and existing emerging countries. Write clear and detailed business requirement documents, prioritize features, and drive technical scoping as needed.
- Communicate and drive long term initiatives, actively work to remove bottlenecks and create scalable mechanisms and use Supply Chain knowledge to influence future tools and feature enhancements. Effectively influence stakeholders without having direct authority. Drive clear, precise, and regular communication with stakeholders to include ongoing project/program status via monthly and quarterly planning reviews.
- Proactively identify gaps and opportunities in the process while partnering with established markets teams to benchmark the best practices and tools to drive implementation and adoption for emerging countries.
- Around 10% annual travel to respective countries to understand local operations and processes.
A day in the life
A day in the life of the Network Topology Planning Manager will be to develop FC Topology and network solutions/strategy for emerging countries.
They will coordinate with key stakeholders and tech teams to implement tools and features related to network topology and capacity planning. Proactively identify opportunities and gaps in processes and drive tools implementation and process improvements to bridge the gaps.

About the team
The (Emerging Country Network Planning) team works to optimize multi-year network topology design, along with Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East (AE, KSA, EG), Turkey and Singapore, with more to come with further international expansion.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Network planning, retail/e-commerce operations execution experience
- 5+ years using data analysis tools such as MS Excel to drive improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- 3+ years in a production, fulfillment, or planning environment
- 3+ years experience and success at leading cross functional programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience with Six Sigma/Lean, Statistical data analysis, network modeling and Operational Excellence
- Ability to write SQL/Python queries and use BI Tools like Tableau/Power BI.
- The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Amazon’s cross-matrix organization is critical to the success of this role
- Knowledge of how a fulfillment center, and transportation network is designed and operated
- Ability to communicate effectively across a multitude of platforms with remote team members, as well as stakeholders at multiple levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, and dynamic environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
