The Collegiate Medical Centre is a high achieving dynamic training practice seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our warm and friendly team of receptionist and administrators. This is a permanent role offering 37.5 hours a week Monday Friday.The work is wide ranging from the handling of general internal calls, external patient calls and patient relative enquiries and calls from other Healthcare professionals.Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. However, we will consider exceptional candidates with a customer focused background or those who have dealt with a high volume of complaints.Main duties of the jobAdministrative Support: Provide efficient and accurate support to our GPs and health professionals,Patient Interaction: Handle telephone communications with patients and supporting external organisations.Appointment Coordination: Assist with booking appointments both at the surgery and wider NHS services.Task Management: Action tasks sent by doctors promptly and efficiently.Data Management: Maintain accurate medical data, ensuring that patient records are up-to-date.Administrative Duties: Manage daily administrative tasks, and ensuring our call volume is managed.Collaboration: Work closely with the wider clinical team to provide exceptional patient care and have an awareness of our supporting community services.Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. - Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Experience using GP software systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne, Docman).
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
Desirable
- Experience working in a GP practice or NHS environment.
- Familiarity with CQC standards and practice policies.
Knowledge and SkillsEssential
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with GDPR regulations.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
Desirable
- Understanding of the NHS and primary care services.
- Knowledge of patient appointment systems and clinical coding.
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures and patient confidentiality protocols.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
