Job description
Job Purpose:This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations within a specified region.To carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a range of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the specified Company Health and Safety procedures.
- Although not an exhaustive list, this is likely to include bakery and catering equipment, mechanical and electrical systems and assets, lighting systems, building fabric, water services and other static and portable electrical equipment. General maintenance and first look is required for all HVAC/Fire and Security and electrical and general issues.
Key AccountabilitiesPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESTo represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues.To complete all necessary PPM’s and ensure all PPM remedial tasks are accurately logged andactioned, ensuring legal complianceTo supervise the Maintenance Assistant (MA), provide regular coaching and support them to perform their role in line with company processes.To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where required.To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLA’sTo communicate with Asda Store Management teams and RES of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.To carry out surveys and complete reports as requiredTo carry out alterations and installations within your technical competence and in accordance with current specifications.To complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES,e.g. repairs to the building fabric and surfaces.To assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested to do so by the RESTo recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MA to ensure continuous service delivery in stores; following company processes and policies in recruitment.To maintain accurate administration as well as City applications, recording of jobs live and effective utilisation of time.To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments, which may include overnight stays.To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.Ensure current compliance documentation required for relevant allocated tasks are completed to required quality standards.Ensure that your team attend and complete all mandatory training, including induction programmes and eLearning modules within the timescales required.To provide on the job coaching and support to the team to ensure they are able to perform to the required standards within their role.To deliver technical coaching solutions to the standards required, ensuring participation of trainees through active encouragement and support of learningComplete all induction and training administration, including probationary reviews to ensure that the team are fully competent, and aware of their performance.To participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (min 1 week in 4) and to complete general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours StandbyTo complete basic repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours StandbyCarryout first look for equipment such as Fire and Security/ HVAC/electrical and general issuesTo comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES, or other City Management Team.Financial Responsibility: N/APeople Responsibility:To interview / recruit / oversee / manage the Maintenance Assistant/Mobile Maintenance Assistant and Multi site Maintenance Assistant as recruited against the stores they cover.To update Cascade, managing holidays and absence.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesGeneral Education:Desirable:GCSE StandardProfessional/Academic/ Vocational QualificationsEssential:C&G 2382 (18th edition)Level 3 core Electrical qualification, examples of which are: C&G2330, C&G 2365 (with relevant experience), C&G2365 etc.Desirable:Familiarity with completion of electrical certificationCity & Guilds 2391 Testing and InspectionTime served in electrical discipline or have relevant industry experience in a similar role.Specific KnowledgeEssential:3 phase electrics and its applicationsDemonstrated BehavioursEssential:Ability to manage and support team membersGood communication skills (written and verbal)Helpful/friendly mannerCustomer focusedSelf-motivatedSpecialist RequirementsEssential:Ability to maintain/repair a range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g. fans, pumps and compressors, to recognised standardsGeneral plumbing and building experienceAbility to work with minimum supervisionAbility to work at heightsCurrent driving licenceAbility to complete the standard required for maintenance and repair of electrical/ electronic equipment and appliancesWillingness to work flexible hoursIn 1985, husband and wife Willie and Susan Haughey established City Refrigeration Holdings.
