Network Administrator

Vaco is actively seeking a Network Administrator for a direct-hire opportunity to join an extremely stable and highly respected organization in the Memphis area.

Position Summary

The Network Administrator works closely with the Server Administrator / Systems Analyst to provide Tier 2 support for servers, systems, and network operations. Serving as the subject matter expert for network infrastructure, the Network Administrator is responsible for mapping, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of the company’s LAN/WAN environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide helpdesk support for local and remote network hardware and software issues.
• Assist Tier 1 personnel in resolving communication issues between remote sites and the data center.
• Collaborate with Tier 3 support and the Operations Manager to develop, test, and maintain Business Recovery plans.
• Plan, recommend, procure, install, administer, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP phones, printers, and other network-related devices.
• Deliver hands-on training and documentation for network setup and configuration to team members.
• Prepare project documentation and manage the network device lifecycle for both local and remote sites.
• Manage and maintain company-wide hardware and software inventory.
• Prepare budgetary recommendations for the Operations Manager, Department Heads, and Regional Directors.
• Work directly with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and support agreements.
• Evaluate and support VOIP hardware, software, and systems.
• Provide server support related to network appliance configurations.
• Research and assist with the acquisition of network hardware and software.
• Assist with monthly Windows Update deployment for servers and workstations using SCCM.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience administering medium-sized networks involving servers, desktops, and communications devices using current technologies.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Network Administration certification preferred (i.e. CompTIA Network , Cisco Certified Support Technician, Cisco Certified Network Associate, etc).
• Ability to prepare and maintain detailed project documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, VPN installation and support, and wireless device management.
• Ability to plan, install, configure, and maintain routers, firewalls, and network policies.
• Proficiency in network monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues and escalate problems to vendors as needed.
• Expertise in network security configuration and maintenance, particularly related to IP management and firewall setups.
• Experience maintaining standards for server installations to enhance security, data management, and application reliability.
• Ability to install, monitor, and maintain VPN gateways to ensure secure and reliable remote access.
• Familiarity with remote access technologies, including basic troubleshooting.

• Target Compensation: $75k – $90k based on skills and experience
