Description

We are hiring a cleared Network Administrator to support a U.S. Army NEC in Ft. Huachuca, Az. 

The Network Administrator supports an existing Army Network Administration Team to enhance the administration, configuration, operations, and services support for the Fort Huachuca Network Management System. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our mission to keep America’s heroes connected, ensuring optimal network performance and reliability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Strategic Planning: Lead facilities planning for network infrastructure enhancements considering new constructions, transformation initiatives, and building occupancy alterations. 
  2. Tier III Support: Act as the go-to expert for all Tier III support requirements, addressing network connectivity issues, and ensuring optimal collaboration with external vendors and IT personnel. 
  3. Cisco Operations: Undertake IOS upgrades on network switches, harnessing tools like CISCO works, and manage the configuration of switches and routers, ensuring IPv6 compatibility. 
  4. VLAN Management: Spearhead VLAN-related operations across the installation. 
  5. Performance Monitoring: Continuously oversee network operations, identifying bottlenecks, and leveraging government tools to ensure optimal network traffic and performance. 
  6. Security & Compliance: Employ network monitoring tools to ensure system integrity, while reviewing various logs and statistics to uphold security standards. 
  7. Cisco Systems Management: Lead the implementation, management, and monitoring of Cisco platforms like Access Control Server, ISE, and Prime. 
  8. Device Management: Take charge of installing, troubleshooting, and upgrading CISCO network switches and routers. 
  9. Capacity Planning: Lead the capacity and performance optimization initiatives for the Fort Huachuca IP Network. 
  10. Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with team members to cultivate and maintain a robust Cisco-centric IP network. 
  11. Reporting: Harness CA Spectrum for device additions and detailed report generation. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree coupled with 7 years of hands-on experience in network administration. (An additional 2 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.) 
  • DoD IAT Level II or higher certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)). 
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) certification. 
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance. 

Desired Experience: 

  • Previous experience at an Army NEC or with U.S. military network systems.
