Make an Impact by
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams
Skills for Success
At least 5-8 years of network operations and/or network design background
In-depth experience in TCP/IP (v4 and v6), BGP and MPLS technologies.
Proficiency in underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols. (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks, with a sound knowledge of complex traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.
Extensive hands-on experience with carrier-grade routers and operating systems.
Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments, while able to manage multiple
Strong troubleshooting methodology and experience in an operational environment.
Strong software development skills, including Python programming and Ansible/Shell scripting is highly regarded.
Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued and preferred)
