Make an Impact by

  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams

Skills for Success

  • At least 5-8 years of network operations and/or network design background
  • In-depth experience in TCP/IP (v4 and v6), BGP and MPLS technologies.
  • Proficiency in underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols. (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks, with a sound knowledge of complex traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with carrier-grade routers and operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments, while able to manage multiple
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology and experience in an operational environment.
  • Strong software development skills, including Python programming and Ansible/Shell scripting is highly regarded. 
  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued and preferred)
