Description of Duties:
The Network Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Partner with the support team, the network engineer is heavily involved with identifying, prioritizing, and resolving critical network related issues that impact business operations.
- Proactively seeks to communicate solutions on network related issues and preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company network.
- Assist in design, configuration, installation, test and troubleshooting of IT network systems primarily consisting of Cisco and PaloAlto based LAN/WANs.
- Use technical writing and verbal communication skills in a fast paced environment with minimal or no supervision.
- Coordinate work with internal/external elements to provide/suggest technical solutions for network environments and document any updates or changes to the network.
- Potential, but not required, to Travel to remote locations with an exercise team and provide on-site technical setup and support for the duration of the event.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to work as a team to install, configure, test and troubleshoot network solutions at local and remote site locations.
- Be able to follow documentation from senior network engineers to onboard and standup Cisco routers and switches.
- Be familiar with Cisco routers and switches, DOD HAIPE devices such as GD KG-175 TACLANE, IP addressing, subnetting and DNS.
- Be able to document network changes and draft technical diagrams
This position may require travel up to 25% of the time in support of MDA remote site integration activities.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 2 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 0 years of general experience.
- Must have 2.5 years of experience in a networking/communication field
- Must have current experience supporting the IRES contract
- Must have experience with physical layer cabling standards for interconnection between network devices
- Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher
- Must have a current Cisco associate level certification
- Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
- Have Network technical experience with a solid understanding of Cisco internal and external routing protocol
- Be familiar with Cisco Software-Defined Networking technologies
- Be familiar with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/IPS, Internal/External routing protocols, TCP and UDP, Multicast environments, Cisco Call Manager and VMware.
- Have experience working with BMDS or multi component exercises.
- Have an active passport
This position is expected to pay $69,500 – $94,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
