We are seeking a top-notch Network Engineer Lead to assume a pivotal role in providing leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on support to ensure the robustness, efficiency, and security of USAF Air Combat Command critical mission systems. The Network Engineer lead will support team efforts in hardware engineering, systems administration, network administration, and systems design and testing.
- Network Optimization: Conduct network performance assessments and audits to avoid service degradations and optimize performance. Ensure network supports scalability, performance standards.
- Network Operations and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues, including fault isolation, incident response, and performance monitoring using advanced network analysis tools.
- Security and Compliance Management: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards.
- Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee network infrastructure projects from initiation through completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum nine years of experience in network engineering, with at least two years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Expert-level knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and network security protocols.
- Proven experience with configuring and managing network equipment from major vendors.
- TS/SCI Clearance.
- Certification requirements met in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, VCP-NV, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and standards.
- Experience with cloud networking technologies and architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
