Network Implementation Engineer, Data Center Networking Delivery

Google will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require Google’s sponsorship of a visa.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
• 2 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, relay rack/cabinet/cage construction, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Deployment Package (DPK) device management and complete workflows, identifying network issues, and assisting with solutions.
• Experience in network infrastructure, communications, stakeholder management, project management, and network operations.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with managing and/or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, and/or vendors in a Telco working environment.
• Experience in collaboration across multiple levels and functions.
• Passion to engage/influence decision-making both tactically and strategically.

Data Center Networking (DCNet) Delivery manages data center deployment programs/projects, including data center and colocation facility turn-ups, turndowns, expansions, refactors, and new technology pilots.

Responsibilities

• Own and serve as point of contact responsible for the execution, implementation of network build, operations and maintenance across data centers, Point-of-Presence (POP), and colocations.
• Own an area of responsibility for the business while anticipating needs and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Identify new initiatives, programs, processes to create efficiency and process improvements, optimize resources, and address gaps and risk cross-functionally.
• Drive cross-functional global programs/projects, including new product introductions to enable the network for Cloud and other Google product areas.
