Network Operations Analyst is responsible to manage the global network services operations ensuring the stability, performance, resiliency, security, and efficiency of our organizations global network infrastructure. This role encompasses several critical responsibilities, the key responsibilities:

Manage Operations and Execution:

  • Service Delivery: Ensure that services are delivered according to defined criteria, contracts, and financial agreements. Monitor performance metrics, address bottlenecks, and optimize processes.
  • Incident Management: Handle incidents promptly, minimizing downtime and impact on users. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. Regularly assess processes and adapt as needed.

Compliance and Auditability:

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure that the network operations team adheres to organizational policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Regularly review and update policies.
  • Process Compliance: Monitor process adherence across the network. Conduct internal audits to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Configuration Management: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and updates. Implement version control and change management practices.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Network Infrastructure Maintenance and management:

a. Oversee and Manage Global Network Services and Systems:

b. – Responsible for maintaining and managing a comprehensive suite of global network services and systems, including SDWAN, LAN, WLAN, Zero Trust Architecture, micro-segmentations, Network Access Control (NAC), IT, OT, LAB networks, cloud networking on AWS and VMC platforms, firewalls, and B2B VPNs.

c. – The primary goal is to ensure standardization, security, resilience, scalability, performance, and reliability of the network infrastructure and integration solutions.

d. Network Operations and Troubleshooting:

e. – Manage global network operations, addressing various operational issues related to network services.

f. – Utilize ITIL practices to troubleshoot and resolve network-related challenges.

g. Enhancing Network Stability and Resilience:

h. – Drive initiatives to enhance network stability, ensuring service resilience, disaster recovery (DR), and technology upgrades for network services.

i. Alignment with Business Objectives and Technology Standards:

j. – Ensure that the overall network infrastructure stability aligns with business objectives and industry technology standards.

k. Comprehensive Blueprint and Documentation:

l. – Maintain a detailed blueprint of the IT network infrastructure, covering networks, cloud components, and critical elements.

m. – Design changes should align with organizational needs and future growth and enterprise architecture principles.

n. – Detailed documentation facilitates troubleshooting and future updates.

o. Continuous Learning and Innovation:

p. – Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to network infrastructure architecture.

q. Provide innovative recommendations for network solutions.

2. Stable & Secure foundations:

a. Minimized Business Disruption:

b. – Despite large-scale changes, ensured minimal business disruption during outages.

c. – Prepare and execute holistic plan to reduce Priority 1 incidents for network services.

d. – Drive P1 incident with different stockholders to identify root cause and fix

e. – Work on lesson learnt and preventive actions to avoid P1 incident in future.

f. Obsolescence Management:

g. – Maintain and manage network asset life cycle of network hardware and software

h. – Drive network Hardware and software refresh program to keep network infrastructure upto date.

i. Cybersecurity Strengthening:

j. – Deploy network segmentation, Zero Trust Network Access (NAC), to secure the network.

k. – Deploy zero trust architecture and Network standardization across global sites

l. FMEA for Critical Solutions/Services:

m. – Created and maintained Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for critical solutions/services.

n. – Strong operational risk management with structured follow up on mitigation measures

o. Resilience Testing:

p. – Ensured resilience for all critical services to be built and tested.

q. Vulnerability Management:

r. – Identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure design, implementing appropriate security measures and disaster recovery plans.

s. – Continuously worked to reduce vulnerability levels.

3. Vendor and Stakeholder Management

a. Regularly compare performance and mindset against market alternatives.

b. Vendor Selection and Infrastructure Acquisition:

c. – Evaluate and choose vendors for network infrastructure products and services.

d. – Acquire necessary hardware and software.

e. Continuous Learning and Innovation:

f. – Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in network infrastructure architecture.

g. – Recommend innovative solutions.

h. Alignment with Stakeholders:

i. – Align strategy and roadmap with internal and external stakeholders.

j. – Provide periodic updates on project status and delivery.

k. – Communicate business impact during severe service disruptions.

l. Stakeholder Management:

m. – Proactively manage stakeholder expectations.

n. – Communicate progress, decision-making, and prioritization.

o. Business Communications and Risk Mitigation:

p. – Create business communications for planned network service related changes.

q. – Share IT risk and contingency plans with business stakeholders.

r. Knowledge Sharing and Relationship Building:

s. – Share lessons learned and best practices across programs.

t. – Foster relationships at all levels.

4. Operational diligence & efficiency

a. Incident and Service Resolution Improvement:

b. – Analyse and define actions to reduced Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) as continuous focus area.

c. – Identify Automation opportunity to reduce the manual changes

d. – Achieved this through effective operational governance.

e. Network service regular reviews and Improvements opportunities:

f. – Drive monthly network services improvement reviews with vendors to identify opportunities actions and Implement.

g. – Maintain network service dashboards clean and error free.

h. – Maintained CMDB accuracy and regular updates Process review and continuous improvement

i. – Review and update all IT network processes in alignment with GEM@IT practices

j. – Focus on continuous improvement on the defined process.

k. Effective Audit Management:

l. – Ensured timely closure of audits actions for network related findings.

m. – No repeat findings for high-risk areas.

Education / Qualifications : Master’s or bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Experience : 8-10 years of experience in Network infrastructure operational management or a similar role, with a proven track record of network operation management for global services on both On-premise and cloud – preferably automobile industry.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of Network infrastructure services SDWAN, LAN, WLAN, Firewall, ZTNA, NAC, SD-Access, Proxy, B2B, NAC, network standardization, micro-segmentation and AWS/VMC cloud networking platform, and data centers. Proficiency in infrastructure design frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong architectural and analytical skills to assess business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable infrastructure needs.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, protocols, and technologies, including network security, zero trust, encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple activity and task simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications in Network infrastructure architecture or related areas CCNP, ITIL or similar certification
