Description

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon optic cables.
• Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.
• Perform work in accordance with industry standards.
• Be familiar with BICSI standards, read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
• Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field with clarity and detail and make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies.
• Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation.
• Participate in engineering, permit and construction processes to support project contracts.
• Perform routine maintenance.
• Recognize and repair route issues including maintenance and hand hole cleanup, and sign placement.
• Connect wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
• Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.
• Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all governmental orders.
• Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
• Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints

Work Environment: M-F 7-4. Working at various customer sites across the island. 

Entry Level Position. Training provided as well as tools if needed. Get a jump start into the continuously growing Telecommunications Industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $25.00/hr.
