Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT) Safeguarding Services is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated team in Wellingborough.The Safeguarding Services team manages cases transferred from the Duty and Assessment Team (DAAT) at the first Initial Child Protection Conference or Child in Need meeting. Cases remain with the team until closure, or transfer to the Children in Care Teams if they escalate to the court arena or long-term care.This position requires a professional ready to _hit the ground running_ and support the service in achieving the best outcomes for children and families.Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload of children and young people with varying levels of need.
Attend Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child in Need meetings, ensuring comprehensive care plans are in place.
Work effectively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and young people.
Prepare reports for court proceedings if necessary.
Contribute to the development of innovative practices within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
Qualified Social Worker: Degree in Social Work with current registration under Social Work England.
Experience in Safeguarding: Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, and managing complex caseloads.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in the office as required to meet service demands.
Analytical and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to analyze complex situations and implement appropriate plans.
Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with families and professionals.
