Acknowledge & address your mistakes with honesty & integrityResponsibilities:Leadership and Management:· Oversee the daily operations and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GMP standards.· Manage activity in the factory to ensure demand is satisfied and waste is minimised.· Monitor production processes and maintain consistent product quality.· Motivate staff and assign roles based on competence and work demand ensure factory capability.· Lead, direct, and support the factory management team.· Assign roles to staff based on development needs, competence, and work demand.Efficiency and Cost Control:· Optimize production efficiency by streamlining processes and maximizing performance.· Monitor production costs and identify areas for improvement.· Ensure yield, waste and giveaway are kept to minimum levels.· Ensure cost-saving measures do not compromise product quality.· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall efficiency.Quality:· Implement control measures and address any deviations promptly.· Collaborate with the technical team to uphold factory standards.· Ensure all non-compliances are closed out to the satisfaction of the Technical Manager.· Ensure all customer complaints are thoroughly investigated and corrective action is carried out.Communication:· Champion cross functional communication with other departments (planning, maintenance, technical, etc.).· Provide regular reports on production performance, challenges, and achievements.Safety and Compliance:· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, food safety standards, and environmental guidelines.· Collaborate with the safety team to implement safe work practices.· Conduct risk assessments for operational activities.Continuous Improvement:· Monitor and track departmental performance.· Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action generation.· Drive process improvement to improve OEE performance.· Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement and maintain best practice.· Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.Expectations, Competencies & QualificationsThe main function of this role is to control all maintenance activity at the Timahoe site. To be successful in this role the following characteristics/competencies are required:· Self-Aware· Open & Honest· Proactive· Effective at communication (Internally, Cross-Functionally & Externally)· Effective at DelegationQualifications, Skills & Experience· Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Management Desirable· Food manufacturing experience Essential· HACCP Training Essential· Green Belt Training Desirable· Manual Handling Training Desirable· Leadership Training DesirableKPIs· Specific KPI Measures will be agreed to include targets on:o Safetyo Plan Attainmento OEEo Usage Variance, (Waste, giveaway and Yield)o Complaints, Non Conformances.o Cost Variance (labour, budgetary spend)Working conditionsThe job requires presence on the factory floor. Given the nature of the business, the work areas must be maintained under refrigerated conditions. The job will at times require working in confined spaces and on machines with safety guards removed.Physical requirementsThe work in some areas can be physically demanding & it will be necessary to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects & carry out manual work. Manual handling techniques and observing rest periods are of vast importance.
