Part-Time Hydroponics Staff/Freight Farm

Job Summary:

This part-time staff position will provide support for our Freight Farm Hydroponic system for production, class and lab use. This position will report to the Hydroponic manager and assist in the daily operations of our Freight Farm Hydro system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports daily operations for all DelVal Freight Farm Hydroponics
• Grows, Harvests, Packages and Delivers all Hydroponic production for sale or donation according FSMA rules and regs
• Maintains Hydroponic Facilities for class and laboratory use
• Plans and coordinates production schedules with vendors to maximize production opportunities
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Multi-System Hydroponic Production Knowledge
• Greenhouse Plant and Vegetable Production Knowledge

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Frequently lifting 25 lbs or more
• Typically standing or walking
• Typically bending, crouching, stooping
• Climbing ladders, scaffolds
• Using tools requiring high dexterity
• Outdoor exposure to weather
• Exposure to chemicals
• Exposure to moving machinery
• Exposure to unpleasant odors
• High noise environment
• High dust, dirt, grease environment
• Must hold valid driver’s license
• May have an alternative work schedule
• May be required to be on-call
• Occasional travel
