Job description
Due to the retirement of the existing post holder, we are seeking to appoint, to start in September 2025 (or at the end of the summer term), a Pastoral Lead Officer who will work alongside the existing Pastoral Manager.The role takes responsibility for co-ordinating the pastoral care of all pupils who are vulnerable and also those disengaged with learning, specifically those children with social, emotional and behavioural issues, ensuring the continuity of learning and social development.Your role will include leading on behaviour, child protection, attendance, medical and dietary needs, nurture and family liaison.This is a non-teaching role, although you will be expected to support groups of children in the classroom and in small groups or 1-1 settings.This role will also involve being a contact on behalf of the school with Children and Family Services and all other such organisations and to handle all matters that involve these parties.We want fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a commitment to helping our children reach the highest standards of attainment and achievement, underpinned by our strong Christian ethos.Visits to the school are expected – please contact the admin team to organise your date and time on .We are interested to know what YOU will bring to the role.What qualities, passions and skills do you have that will help to make our school an outstanding place to work and learn?If you are motivated by the desire to shape the future and play a key role in the development of our ambitious school, we would love to hear from you.We want innovative practice and a commitment to trying the unknown.You must:
- Be a strong, reflective practitioner who is highly motivated about ensuring pastoral care leads to good outcomes
- Be a team player with good communication and inter-personal skills, able to liaise with parents and other agencies
- Be able to manage children with behaviour issues with positivity, calmness and unfailing love!
- Support and promote the strong Christian ethos and values of this Church of England School, both within the school and the local community
- Be able to lead on safe guarding, attending meetings where necessary
- Be flexible, open to change and have a good sense of humour!
