A new opening has become available for a Planning Solicitor to join this 3 Partner team based in Edinburgh.The role will involve dealing with a broad range of interesting and challenging planning instructions. Although there will be an emphasis on contentious matters such as planning appeals, public inquiries, hearings and judicial review, the post will require input on strategic decision making and advice, as well as drafting of planning obligations.More specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Providing all forms of contentious planning advice (including appeals, public inquiries, compensation claims, judicial challenges and enforcement action).
• Providing strategic advice to clients, including written opinion work.
• Drafting planning obligations and other legal agreements

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of PQE in dealing with planning law advice either in private practice, In-House or for a local authority. A knowledge of Scottish environmental law and the various enforcement regimes would be an advantage but not essential. Relevant experience of conducting litigation in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court and ideally experience also in managing major planning, roads and related inquiries would be preferred.To find out more, please contact Jill Cowan on 07931 811 330 or email Jill@lusona.co.uk
