Basic Function:

The successful post-doctoral fellow will work on a DAFM funded project funded Circular Bovine and Ovine Co-Products Valorisation (CirCoVal). The successful candidate will be involved in the extraction and fractionation of high value ingredients and recovery of nutrients from wastewater. The candidate will also assist other partners/researchers to develop bespoke biorefinery processes for the valorisation of bovine and ovine co-products, and upscale selected processes. The primary role of the candidate is to develop a range of extraction technologies, develop valorisation strategies and contribute towards circularity of Irish meat sector. Key role of the successful post-doctoral fellow will be the following:

To develop clean and green extraction/bioprocessing technologies for recovery of nutrients/high value ingredients.

To characterise side streams and extracted ingredients for potential agri-food applications.

Location: Food Research Centre, Teagasc, Ashtown, Dublin 15, D15 KN3K

Salary: Post Doc (Level 1) with a Salary Scale of €41,081 to €45,322

Contract duration: Indicative duration of 30 months, subject to contract
