• As a postdoctoral researcher working on Active Rheology Control of cementitious materials, at least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research.
• In the framework of several scientific research projects, you will perform high-level experimental and theoretical research regarding rheology of cementitious materials, with focus on pumping of cementitious materials, on 3D concrete printing, and more specifically on active rheology control for pumping and 3D concrete printing.
• You will be member of a research team working on these projects, and you will coordinate your research activities with the activities of the other researchers.
• As postdoc, you will also have a supervising role for some of the research activities.
• You will also contribute to other activities including teaching and/or services.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a thesis-based doctorate (obtained max. 6 years ago. This term of 6 years is determined by the date written on the above-mentioned required diploma), or you will obtain your doctoral degree at the latest by 31 August 2025.
• Your doctoral research was in the field of rheology of cementitious materials, most preferably focusing on active rheology control of cementitious materials, e.g. magnetorheological control.
• You have excellent research competences, and you are familiar with experimental research, including rheometry of cementitious materials. Having an interest in pumping of concrete and in 3D concrete printing is most desirable.
• The excellent quality of your doctoral research is further illustrated by high-level peer-reviewed papers in highly ranked journals.
• You take responsibility for the development of your project in a well-structured, thorough way, and you are able to solve problems independently.
• You display creativity in solving problems, generating ideas or finding new ways of working.
• You have an open personality and you are willing to contribute to the team.
• You have excellent didactic and communication skills in English, both orally and written.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you a contract of indefinite duration with a maximum term of 1 year
• Your contract will start on 1/10/2025 at the earliest. Depending on administrative issues (e.g. visa application if needed), the start date might be delayed.
• Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1.
