Primary Teacher – Mental Health – Trauma – Woking – Education and TrainingCompany: Academics – Primary Teacher – Nurture Teacher – Education and TrainingJob Type: Permanent – £140 – £220 per daySector: Education and TrainingThe School: Primary Teacher – Mental Health – Trauma – WokingThe school is located near Woking and provides support for children aged 9-16 years who have a range of learning and behavioural needs due to social, emotional and mental health challenges. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to. The pupils at the school can struggle to form string, healthy relationships and can present high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour.What is involved: Primary Teacher – Mental Health – Trauma – Woking

  • Delivering the primary curriculum as intervention lessons for KS3/4 aged pupils, bridging gaps in learning, building confidence and self esteem
  • Delivering a range of subjects including maths and English
  • Managing children’s behaviour during the school day and supporting their learning and participation in class
  • Encouraging the development of social skills and supporting students’ individual needs
  • Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
  • Supporting regulations pertaining to safeguarding.

What is required: Primary Teacher – Mental Health – Trauma

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Experience of working in a special school environment and in particular with pupils with ASC and SEND
  • Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs
  • Further qualifications in SEND desirable
  • Working knowledge of ASC/SEMH students with complex needs
  • Evidence of sound knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of autism and associated co-morbid conditions and how these can affect learning.

  • £140 – £220 per day – 8.30am-4.30pm – Term time only
  • Full time and part time roles, flexible working hours and short and long term contracts
  • May 25 or later in the year depending on your availability
