Primary Purpose
To experience Mountaire’s culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire’s family-oriented work environment. Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. The intern will play a pivotal role in developing and executing a targeted marketing plan to re-engage past customers and attract new farmers to sell their grain to our company. This project will involve:
- Data Analysis:
- Analyzing historical customer data to identify key trends and patterns in farmer behavior.
- Segmenting the farmer base based on factors such as location, crop type, and past transaction history.
- Developing a scoring system to prioritize potential customers based on their likelihood to re-engage or convert.
- Marketing Campaign Development:
- Creating tailored marketing campaigns for different segments of farmers, including personalized messaging and offers.
- Developing a mix of marketing channels, such as direct mail, email, social media, and digital advertising, to reach the target audience effectively.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to design and produce marketing materials.
- Campaign Execution and Measurement:
- Implementing the marketing campaigns and tracking their performance.
- Analyzing campaign metrics to measure effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
- Providing insights and recommendations for future marketing efforts.
Primary Project
- Gain experience in data analysis, marketing strategy, and campaign execution.
- Develop a marketing plan to boost farmer retention and acquisition.
- Learn about the agricultural industry and grain marketing.
- Enhance skill in data-driven decision-making and project management.
- Collaborate with marketing professionals and explore various marketing channels.
Duties/Activities Required by Job
- Complete assigned project identified by department mentor
- Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities
- All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 5 – 7, 2025)
- All interns are required to complete a 10 minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 4-8th.
- All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)
Education/Experience Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, SQL)
- Marketing Fundamentals: Basic understanding of market segmentation, targeting, and marketing mix
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing strategies.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis and campaign execution.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with marketing automation tools and digital marketing platforms (e.g., CRM systems, email marketing software).
- Agricultural Industry Knowledge: A basic understanding of the agricultural industry and grain markets is beneficial but not required.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with market research or customer relationship management, knowledge of graphic design or content creation, and proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
