• Procurement of all materials, plant and equipment requirements for construction sites and head office
• Sourcing materials to specific specifications or alternatives to equal specification, compiling datasheets and paperwork for BCAR.
• Sourcing of suppliers for difficult to find materials.
• Obtaining and analysing quotations
• Negotiating with suppliers and placement of purchase orders
• Co-ordinating deliveries of materials
• Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and forging relationships with new suppliers
• Managing and approving suppliers’ invoices and dealing with queries.
• Obtaining quotations of materials for estimating
• Keep inventory and stock of snag materials and consumables at main stores.
• Reporting to Contracts Managers / Directors

You will need:

• Previous experience in the construction industry
• Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry-specific procurement practices.
• Previous buying experience
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
