We also recognise the need for a healthy work-life balance to ensure our staff have the chance to live a fulfilling life beyond the workplace.The Product Manager is responsible for the product lifecycle management of Saab Seaeye’s latest electric work class vehicle – eWROV, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product roadmap & vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, BD, marketing, the PMO and product support to ensure revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.Key accountabilities and responsibilities:Research customer current opinions and future requirements, industry trends, directly and via the sales and business development teamDefine and progress the eWROV product roadmap ensuring alignment with the technology roadmapDefine high level requirements for the product and the associated supporting equipment – working with the supply chain for new purchases, partnerships & providing signed off requirements to engineering teamsArticulate the business value of the product family to the organisationArticulate developments required to be undertaken to executives and other stakeholders with estimated budgets, timelines and resource requirementsContinually prioritise developments according to ROI, budgets, resources and timelines as well as customer priorities providing they suit the roadmapParticipate in and execute the “Product Life Cycle Management” (PLCM) processCreate product and capability plansParticipate in the customer solutions process, in particular during the winning business and sales handover phase ensuring that requirements are documented and appropriate technical solutions are proposedEnsure alignment and suitability of master quotations, master BoMs, training material, manuals and sales material for standard system configurations and specialsAssess demands for non-standard ROV or product configurations based on value, risk, complexity, strategic importance and the roadmapAssist engineering & the PMO in the estimation of development lead times for new businessAssist the Configuration Management Engineer to create BOMs and configuration diagrams for customer solutions projects, owning the standard product configuration and BOM as well as describing variationsSign off internal Factory Acceptance Tests from a quality perspectiveWork with Product Support to encompass customer feedback and issues into product improvements and assist with addressing customer support issuesManage obsolescence issuesBe knowledgeable with respect to the competition and monitor industry trendsTravel internationally to customer premises, trade shows and conferences to solicit customer and market inputGeneral accountabilities and responsibilities:To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role.To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times.To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines.To carry out any other duties as detailed by a member of the management team or authorized representative.To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness.Health & Safety responsibilities:To ensure that the working area is a clean and safe environment in compliance with the 6S best practice and health and safety policies.To ensure any equipment used is safe, within electrical test date and all guards and interlocks are working and in place.To act safely and responsibly in line with company processes and Health and Safety procedures to ensure your safety and the safety of others.To report any potential Health and safety hazards or violations to your supervisor/ line manager or directly to the QHSE manager.To ensure any PPE or work wear required or provided for the job is worn and checked regularly for wear, and then reported when replacements required.Skills / Knowledge requiredExperience of the Product Management of complex high value productsA sound engineering background preferably in electrical and electronicsSystems engineering and design experience desirableExperience of interfacing with customers and other key stakeholdersAbility to influence cross-functional teamsExperience of drafting product requirement documentsMicrosoft OfficePrevious experience in the ROV or a related sector desirable
