Based at our World-class aerospace engineering and manufacturing site in East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, and reporting to the Programme Manager, the Programme Support Officer will support the day-to-day program operations of the business and be responsible for the administration and activities associated with control and monitoring of progress, scope, cost, and resource management within the program. You will also need to be flexible, with ad-hoc national and international travel when required

Job Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities will include:

  • Compiling and follow up work breakdown structure, organisation breakdown structure, and cost breakdown structure schedules/plans for the program.
  • Control and monitoring on progress, scope, costs and resource management and allocation for the program.
  • Based on analysis, initiating of improvements recoveries on on-time delivery and quality from Customer Scorecards/delivery schedule adherence etc. in close collaboration with the responsible disciplines.
  • Preparing and maintaining the customer outlook for budgeting purposes.
  • Preparing the demand for operations, including required performance measures and preparing the handshake agreements with the performance site.
  • Supporting Risk and Opportunity Management activities and managing the risk register to control and mitigate the risk exposure.
  • Establishing and controlling robust document management within the Integrated Programme Team, and towards/from the customer.
  • Support creation, coordination and delivery of (change) proposals to customer requests.
  • Preparing and analysing the Program Performance Summary and initiating actions in case of deviations.

Job Qualifications

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential:

  • Previous experience within a customer facing role
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating with key stakeholders
  • GCSE level Maths and English (Grade C or Grade 4 and above)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

Desirable:

  • Previous experience using an ERP or SAP systems
  • Any APMP qualifications (or working towards)
  • Background working with the aviation or engineering industry
  • Demonstrable Programme or Project Management experience
  • Willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis at potentially short notice
